About Us

The Miami Biotech Collective is a close-knit community of influential operators, researchers, and investors who have come together with one goal: to unleash the full potential of our region’s life sciences ecosystem. The Miami Biotech Collective exists to build the connective tissue of South Florida’s biotech ecosystem.

The Team

Raquel Cabo

Founder and President
LinkedIn

Raquel Cabo is a biopharma executive with more than 20 years of experience across biotech and medtech, with a focus on commercial strategy and operational leadership. She currently serves as Chief Strategy Officer at Orsini Rare Disease Pharmacy Solutions. Prior to Orsini, Raquel was part of the founding team at Ovid Therapeutics, where she spent nearly a decade in commercial, strategy, and external affairs roles, ultimately serving as Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs & Strategy. Earlier in her career, she held leadership roles at GE Healthcare, Medtronic, and Columbia University Medical Center.

Raquel serves on Baptist Health’s Al and Jane Nahmad Women’s Cancer Center Committee, the Board of Directors of the Society for Hispanic Rare Diseases, and the Ambassador Council of the University of Pennsylvania’s College of Arts and Sciences. She holds a BA in Psychology with honors from the University of Pennsylvania and an MSc in International Health Policy and Health Economics from The London School of Economics.
